How To Pick Ad Sizes and Formats
One of the first steps in incorporating advertising into your website or blog is determining the sizes of ad that will appear. You want to make sure that these ads fit properly and don’t overlap or look out of place. A good rule of thumb and a great display of the major ad formats used throughout the industry can be found on the Google Adsense site.
Fire Bug Web Development Tool
Paul, this post is mostly directed to you, to make sure you’re reading the blog (and if you’re not, get ready for a spanking). The tool is called Fire Bug and integrates with Firefox to edit HTML, CSS, Javascript, and more. Check it out and let me know how it is. Note to project managers out there: making your web developers job easier makes your life easier too!
OpenWebDesign.org Bullshit
So, according to a very well known open-source web designers blog, some idiot purchased openwebdesign.org and is now inserting sponsored links and HIDDEN links throughout the free open source templates. This has obviously pissed off many of the designers who supported the site in the past and has me feeling like I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. If anybody has any other info as to what’s going on here, please let me know - ’cause what’s going on now is, pardon my french, bullshit.

Death of Microsoft Frontpage?
Jim Boykin talks today about an email he received concerning Microsoft Frontpage. I was unaware that FrontPage was being discontinued, and the article goes into more specifics of that. I say good riddance (even though I learned using FrontPage). I’d rather see someone use Wordpress before building a site in FrontPage.
Use this list when building a website
A great list of things to consider when building a new site. Stuntdbl has done it again with a great post that I wish I could hang on my wall (maybe I will…)
Dump your Sitemap?
SEO BlackHat has some rather interesting thoughts on whether or not you should incorporte that Google Sitemap. While I think his points are valid, why not incorporate a sitemap for the viewer AND for the search engine ?
