Rick Rolled: Viral Music, April Fool’s Style
I loved seeing that everyone jumped on board and did some fun things for April fool’s today. Perhaps the best was Youtube UK changing all their featured videos to, you guessed it, Rick “Rolled” Astley’s 1987 Hit “Never Gonna Give You Up”.
Let’s Get Ready To Rumblefish
“How do you choose music that represents your brand?”
That’s the question that Rumblefish will help you answer.
Fred Is So Right About “Superdistribution”
A few days ago Fred “A VC” discussed “superdistribution” on his blog. To sum it up, Fred talks about how in a not-to-distant future, everybody and their mother will be compensated through their word-of-mouth marketing. It’s a concept that I have had in my head since day one of my online marketing and advertising awareness. It’s also a concept that I don’t think many really grasp in it’s entirety.
Firefox TV Commercials: A Lesson in 21st Century Advertising

Bently says F%$* OFF!?
From adrants: I tend to dip my head in the advertising arena as much as possible, and thought you’d like this little “ad” from Bently. It’s obviously a fake ad, and if it isn’t, then kudos to the individual who came up with it. I think fake viral ads done in this fashion are great forms of free viral adversting, even if it seem detrimental. I hope Bently is laughing at the sheer genius of this ad. Reminds me of discussions I’ve had in the past about beer and cigarette campaigns I’d like to run (converstaions had while drinking beers and smoking cigarettes). Keep an eye out, I may decide to finally throw some together…
Marketing like the coke dealers!
Sorry but I had to take advantage of the name just like they did. From Aimee Evans: Seems that word of mouth marketing for the most-talked about energy drink Cocaine got their buzz from a $40 courier fee to the New York Times. I’m thinking about maybe sending the times a case of my “evolvor” energy drink as well. “It’s, uh, really really bad for you–so bad you should write about it in your newspaper (don’t forget the URL)!”
Moron?
Mark Cuban discusses the state of online video and has a few things to say about the “morons” who may end up buying YouTube. He does have a point worth checking out.
