Wondering How to Make That Music Video?

mashable.pngA buddy told me the other day i needed to get some info over here about the video scene, ’cause let’s be real here: video is the future, and will play a big part in any method of online promotion. Luckily for us, Mashable has put together a nice list of online video resources for you to check out, whether it be finding online video editors or places to upload and share them.

Playing Around With Video Yet ?

Get on the video wagon baby! Good content = traffic; we know this. That doesn’t mean adding crapping boring video tutorials to your website is gonna help. Now I’m not saying my videos are gonna be the shit, but I’ve taken it upon myself to start adding a couple a week.

Seeing Our Future Rockstars Today

It just drives me nuts. That is, thinking about the potential the Internet has in shaping our lives. Take this kid for example. He can’t be any older than 12-13, and he’s on YouTube already shredding his guitar in front of millions of people.

Let the Spamming of YouTube Begin! Again!

So earlier this week (or was it last week? I’ve been so busy!) we all learned that Google/YouTube will be paying people for uploading videos to YouTube.

How Google Will Monetize YouTube

Forgive me if this seems obvious, but I’ve never seen it actually put on paper, so to speak. As YouTube and the online video industry continues to gather more heat, people will begin to turn to YouTube to market their product or service.

Comcast to Offer You-Tube-like Video Services

Comcast originally released news about an up-and-coming service that allows users to upload personal videos in a contest format that would showcase videos though cable television. The press release seemed to be premature and Comcast is now touting the service as “Coming Soon”. Again, this just goes to show you how very close we are coming to merging our online habits into our TV programming. I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring us.

Revver Showcases Possible You-Tube Ad Model

revver video bloggingI’d heard of it before but never looked into it, but video blogging site Revver allows users who upload video to monetize their efforts by placing ads at the end of each video. Could this be how Google plans on monetizing the millions of videos uploaded to YouTube? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Ze Frank on Video Blogging

ze frankIf you haven’t checked him out yet, I suggest visiting his recent post about video blogging.Ze rants breifly about the difference between “old dirty media” and “new” media such as blogging, the main difference being that new media is all about humans making connections with each other as opposed to the “stories” of old media. That must explian why I have stopped watching TV and spend more time online. Powerful to say the least.

We Are All Celebrities

As consumer generated media becomes more and more popular, we all have the oppurtunity to be “on TV” and reach superstardom. Hopefully once we all get there we’ll realize that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

Time for us to get Greedy

From Andy Beal: An article on rev2.org about GreedTube, a YouTube spinoff that let’s users monetize their videos by sharing 50% of adsense revenue. Very interesting…
