Fred Is So Right About “Superdistribution”
A few days ago Fred “A VC” discussed “superdistribution” on his blog. To sum it up, Fred talks about how in a not-to-distant future, everybody and their mother will be compensated through their word-of-mouth marketing. It’s a concept that I have had in my head since day one of my online marketing and advertising awareness. It’s also a concept that I don’t think many really grasp in it’s entirety.
Pushin Crap Products and Services Online
Lately I have been snooping around all kinds of online ad networks, whether they be contextual, CPM banner networks, or affiliate networks. They purchase space on a website, usually as a banner ad, and pay the website owner a nice sum of money to put the ad on many pages. The price of the ad obviously relates to how many hits and visitors the website receives in a certain amount of time. Most websites charge the advertiser by per-thousand impressions, or “page views”. While this form of advertising does work, it can be costly. What other options does a small business owner on a budget have to advertise in a similar fashion?
