Has Hell Frozen Over? Axl Rose Finally Releasing ‘Chinese Democracy’

In the midst of the great alternative scene of the early 90’s, one of the greatest rock n’ roll bands ever slowly disintegrated.
While the other band members moved on, Axl Rose kept the G N’ R name, and began work on the band’s sixth album. Since then Chinese Democracy has been well over a decade in the making, and has probably cost somewhere over $13 million, along with several botox injections.

You can check out “Missing Cleveland” on Weiland’s MySpace page, while the track “Paralysis” is streaming over at Spin.
As previously posted, Happy in Galoshes will hit shelves on November 25 (although the release date was originall November, 18, so I’m assuming that it was pushed back a week) through Weiland’s Softdrive records, and will be Weiland’s second solo release, following 1998’s 12 Bar Blues.

Friday came. I woke up and walked down to the local record shop, without blinking. I found it fitting that it was raining it’s ass off. Because that’s the connection I have to Metallica. Rain, sleet, or snow - nothing was going to stop me from picking up their new album, Death Magnetic.
Foo Fighters on Hiatus

I just read the news that the Foo Fighters are going on hiatus. This makes me very sad.
Dave Grohl broke the news to BBC Radio One DJ Chris Moyles. So, what prompted this decision? Apparently it was the band’s two night stand at Wembley Stadium back in July, where they were joined by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

For many I bet this song doesn’t ring a bell at first, but we’ll fix that in a minute.
“Puzzle and Game” is actually the demo version of “Light Years” from 2000’s Binaural. “Light Years” would also make an appearance on rearviewmirrow: Greatest Hits 1991-2003.
Sonic Youth Find New Label

I mentioned not too long ago that Sonic Youth had left Geffen Records, who was their home since 1990.
At the time, in a interview with Rolling Stone, Thurston Moore wouldn’t say who they were going to release their new album through, except that it would be a indie label.

Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland will be embarking on a solo tour this November and December. Weiland will be on the road promoting his second solo album Happy in Galoshes. I mentioned the release date last week, which will be November 18, but I had the title wrong. My bad. Hopefully, Scott won’t fuck up this solo tour like he did in 1998 when promoting 12 Bar Blues.
