A friend showed me this last night, and I fell in love with it. Maybe I’ll pick up the damn guitar and learn how to play the song this way.

The song is an acoustic cover of the wildly popular song by Outcast called “Hey Ya”. Everyone and their mom has heard this song.

Sonic Youth leaving Geffen for Indie Label

Sonic Youth on The Simpsons episode The iconic New York quintet known as Sonic Youth have fulfilled their contract obligations with major label Geffen Recoreds, which has/is home to Nirvana, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Weezer and Counting Crows. But, the band doesn’t seem to mind a single bit.

Over the weekend I was watching I Know Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, yeah there was very little on the boob tube. Anyways, there is this scene between Adam Sandler and Jessica Biel where Radiohead’s “High and Dry” is playing in the background. I thought it was very good use of the song.

Vote For 61 North At The Spark Summer Series

I’ve got to give another shout out to my friends 61 North. They played an amazing show at the Deer Park Tavern the other night and am looking forward to their show Thursday as well. It’s great to see someone who you rode the school bus with up on stage playing some great original music (with an occasional cover of ole faves like Pearl Jam’s Dissident thrown into the mix.
