Binge Drinking on Blogs, Day II: Hangover

Seems I can’t handle my blogroll like I used to, and needed a day to recoup. Here’s the rest of news and tips from my overstuffed blog reader:

If you’re not reading Bob Lefsetz “Lefstz Letter”, then pack your bags, go home and get a day job, ’cause you wont make it. Bob’s words are a priceless insight into what the hell is really going on. Some of his recent ramblings that stuck out are his views on measuring your successes, defining success based on your initial album sales, and why Pixar has hit 9 home runs in a row.

Kid Rock has a great PSA about “Stealing Music”:

Tuncore discusses digital distribution, part II.

Moby gets the fans involved in yet another fan-video contest. Great viral tool, kids.

Doing promo work for bands, I’m constantly sending out tracks to radio and bloggers. Now you can send your singles and promo tracks using Soundcloud!

Don’t forget that today is Independents Day!

Yet another place to hear free music @ Grooveshark. I know that there’s a plethora of similar sites out there, but make sure wherever the people are listening, that they can hear you as well.

Pay attention the to music think tank. A bunch of like-minded newschool music marketing types speak there, and hopefully yours truly will have the honor of dropping some tidbits there soon.
