It’s another Tuesday, which means new music for us to buy and enjoy. Here’s some worth mentioning releases for this week, besides that new Coldplay album, ugh.
Candlebox Returns with New Album and a Tour
While not one of my favorite bands from the 90’s, it’s cool to see the Seattle natives return with a new album.
FYI: Blind Melon
This wonderful and summery weather makes me wanna listen to some Blind Melon. Besides, the band has reunited, released a new album earlier this year and are currently on tour. So, it’s a perfect scenario for and FYI on Blind Melon.
STP Members Sued by Atlantic Records
Yesterday, June 12, STP members Scott Weiland and Eric Kretz were sued by their label Atlantic Records for trying to prematurely end their contract.
The two members have been accused of no longer participating in the band’s current contract with Atlantic, unless some changes were made. The other two members of the band, Rob and Dean DeLeo, have already been released by Atlantic.
Beck’s Modern Guilt Gets Release Date and Track listing
Beck has officially announced the release date for his tenth studio album Modern Guilt.
The Danger Mouse produced project will hit shelves on July 8 through DGC in North America and July 7 in Europe through XL Recordings. Besides announcing the release date, the track listing for Modern Guilt has also been released.
Garbage - #1 Crush

This is an amazingly obsessive, yet hypnotic track from Garbage. Which is pretty obvious, but here’s confirmation from front woman Shirley Manson when talking about the song:“All real love is a form of obsession, if you love someone more than anything else, that degree of exclusivity requires an abnormal amount of passion and care. And that can be positive. It’s just that keeping it short of unhealthy, short of violence, really requires a bit of moderation. You can’t let something like that take over all of your thought processes.”.
Pearl Jam Continue Bootleg Series For Upcoming Tour
Pearl Jam will once again offer fans bootlegs to all their shows for their upcoming tour. This year, however, the band will give fans three different options on how to snag a show.
The first option will be digital downloads from the band’s website immediately following a show. Fans can buy a MP3 version for $9.99 or a FLAC version for $14.99.

Beck Unveils New Songs at Secret Show
Last night Beck played a surprise gig at the Echo in Los Angeles, where he unveiled five tracks from his upcoming album Modern Guilt.
Just over 300 folks were lucky enough to check out the hour long set, which also included some classic Beck tunes.

It’s a perfect time to do an FYI on Weezer, since they just released their sixth studio album this past Tuesday (June 3).
- The band was formed by Rivers Cuomo (vocals, guitar), Matt Sharp (bass), Patrick Wilson (drums) and Jason Cropper (guitars) in 1992, supposedly on Valentine’s Day.
