Yahoo’s 25 Best Alt-Rock Bands of the 90’s
You could probably imagine my excitement when I jumped online this morning and saw that Yahoo had compiled a list of the 25 best alternative rock bands of the 1990’s.
Then, it dawned on me that music lists on Yahoo are made up by this clown named Rob O’ Connor, but I still gave it chance.
While it’s not a bad list at all, he did make the mistake of leaving out some of the best. Bands like Radiohead and Pearl Jam (right there is no no) and even the amazing Jeff Buckley were not included. But, Pavement and Cracker were able to sneak in.
Basically, a bulk of the list is filled up with bands/artists that practically no one has ever heard of, like Giant Sand and Vic Chestnutt, and bands/artists that are safe bets, you know bands like Dinosaur, Jr. and Sonic Youth. Also, there are a number of acts that were around since the 70’s, like Tom Waits and Julian Cope.
Pretty much, this list was just written to once again inflate Rob O’ Connor’s ego. To prove how much musical knowledge and intellect he has.
Here’s the list, minus all the junk that O’ Connor added.

24) Dinosaur Jr.
23) Sonic Youth
22) Pavement
