Robert Plant dislikes Radiohead, RHCP

Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant gave his opinion on Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers while out drinking with a lady friend in London this past weekend.

While at a pub Plant apparently demanded that the music on the jukebox be changed, because it wasn’t to his liking. From there it seems that Plant went on a bit of a tangent. He labeled Radiohead as “rhyming crap” and compared the Chili Peppers music to nursery rhymes. 

I don’t know why, but these stories always amuse me. I get a kick out of musicians bashing each other. It’s just silly.

But, I don’t get why he called Radiohead’s music “rhyming crap”. I mean Radiohead may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it sounds like Plant’s argument was just drunken jibber jabber. I think even if you’re not a fan, you can still appreciate their work, especially if you are an artist yourself.

Although, I do agree with his statement of the Chili Peppers. Most of their lyrics actually do sound like nursery rhymes, because Kiedis does write some goofy stuff. But, I still love their music.
