Interview In Leading Search Engine Optimization Blog
Just wanted to say thanks again to Bill Slawski of Seo By The Sea for publishing an interview with me about digital music marketing. It’s quite an honor to be featured in an award winning search engine blog.
An Interview With Fear Zero’s Ed Sadler
Over the past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of listening to an upcoming album from Canadian rockers Fear Zero. Now, anyone who’s frequented my blog knows I can get into some pop rock - and Fear Zero delivers just that.
Guns N Roses - Chinese Democracy - IRS & The Blues
I just caught some “news” the Guns N’ Roses’ much delayed (and when I mean delayed I mean like ten F#$%@ years delayed) album “Chinese Democracy” is finished, and that Axl is planning for a late summer release. Now, everybody’s heard this before and no one believes it. I ten to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I’m gonna hope this is true. Axl gets a lot of crap from the world, so I’m gonna be nice guy here and say I’m looking forward to hearing it.
Testing the New Yahoo Media Player
I’m behind on my blogroll (as per usual), but thank Fred for pointing us to Yahoo’s new browser-based media player. Yahoo makes it very easy to point towards an mp3 file (that has been uploaded to the web obviously) and plays the file right in your browser. Just add a few lines of code and you’re all done.
A great tool to showcase some music on you’re website. Or you could spend a bunch of money to build a snazzy flash player like every other band out there does. I’d much rather spend that money marketing and advertising instead
Rock Band / Guitar Hero Is Just What the Music Industry Needs Right Now
A few months ago when Rock Band was released I mentioned how important it will be for musicians to get there tracks available as playable tracks on the game. I’ve even gone as far as contacting Harmonix to see how one goes about making this possible.
Using Your Website’s Analytics To Help Set Sales Goals
I’m sure that many artist’s check their monthly website statistics to see what kind of traffic they are getting. Hopefully they’re aware that they should pay no attention to the “hits” statistic because it doesn’t mean anything. They’re instead looking at unique visitors and how many page views they have on average. So how can they use this data to predict and plan for sales goals?

Playing In The Music Game
I somehow got to YouTube (it’s so easy to get distracted with video, isn’t it?), and came upon this documentary of “This Music Game”, which discussed several important points about signing to a major record label.
Manage Your Touring With GigTrak
Just outta nowhere (okay, I was doing some research, but that’s top secret for now), I ran into GigTrak, a browser based software application to help you manage your touring.
That’s right, it’s as simple as that. Manage your touring with a software application.Years ago, labels had to pay people to do half the job that this application probably does.
Seattle’s Alternative Grunge Music Scene
If you happened to be living under a rock during the early 1990’s, you may have missed one of the most significant eras of modern rock lore - the Seattle grunge music scene.
