How Should I Distribute My Music On the Web?

cds.jpg
What a roller coaster ride the past few months have been for music. We’ve had the RIAA up our asses, Radiohead giving it to us the way we want it before pulling out before we finished, Trent telling the industry to stick it, all the while Kayne and 50 just reinforcing the stupidity of it all.

Interview With Bob Baker

Stumbled upon (no pun) an interview with Bob Baker, music marketing extraordinaire. Watch more vids at Bob’s Youtube channel, Mr. Buzz Factor.

What exactly is the RIAA?

riaaIf you’re eyes are glued to a computer screen every day like mine are, and you’ve been following music industry news as of late, you the industry is in turmoil. Cd sales are continue to fall, and new business models are emerging.

Evolvor Interviews Black Market Radio!

I have had the honor of working with BMR in promoting their new album “Better Than A Killer“, and also got the chance to do a little interview with the band as well. If you don’t know who Black Market Radio is, then you haven’t frequented my site and have been living under a rock!

Marketing Brilliance by Pure Buttons

So the Radiohead story just keeps getting better and better. I just logged on to Digg and saw that Pure Buttons, which, as you probably already assumed, makes promotional buttons, has purchased Radiohead’s new album for $1,000.

John Mayer Trio - Vultures

I know, I know - it’s been almost a week since my last post. But between getting the Cureforwhatalesyou.com bus trip together, juggling too many projects, and planning for a two week trip to see my family up north, I’ve been all over the place. Luckily, I’ve had the smooth sounds of the John Mayer Trio to keep me chill and in check.

Blogoholica: New Radiohead Album

radiohead.jpgSo if you haven’t heard already, Radiohead has decided to take on the influential charge and offer their new album for digital download to their fans at a price I think we all can be comfortable with: whatever you want! That’s right folks, you get to pay what you think the album is worth, plus a small processing fee. Pretty cool. They band is also taking orders for a deluxe cd/vinyl set for the hardcore fans. This is the way to go people, seriously.

Obviously many in the blogosphere are ranting and raving and sharing their two cents, so I’ve decided to dedicate this week’s blogoholica post to the discussion about the new Radiohead album.

Go Buy The New Foo Fighters Album

I’m a big supporter of the Rhapsody music business model, and listen to most new music using the service. However, every now and then a band that I’m a big, huge fan of will put out a record and I’ll support the local record shop and actually buy the album. Such was the case with last week’s latest Foo Fighters release, Echos, Silence, Paitence, & Grace.
