There are many social networking websites out there. Some, like MySpace or Facebook, are good for sharing information with your friends. Information like, oh I don’t know, movies you like or pictures of the frat kegger you crashed last Saturday.

Then there’s networks like Linked-In, a networking community for professionals. Basically, it’s a worldwide business networking mixer that can prove to be very beneficial if looking to make those oh-so-important connections within a specific industry.

If you’re an artist of any type, you’re going to have to bang heads with the business world at some point. If you don’t think you will, fine - you can starve forever like the rest of ‘em.

Now, if you’re realistic about things, you know you’re going to need to have certain connections to take care of things - lawyers, accountants, publicists; and you’re going to need to meet “people who know people” in order to get things done and spread the word.

Well, Linked-In just may be the place to make these connections.
