guitar.jpgI usually do not get on my soapbox too much over here at evolvor; my focus has always been to discuss how to promote yourself online, using tips and tricks and how-tos and methods you haven’t yet heard of. Today, were going to forget about marketing for a change and address an issue that every musician or artist needs to tackle, before they set out on that long road to success.

Chris Cornell - Euphoria Morning

chriscornell-euphoriamorning.jpgSeptember 21, 1999 was the release date for Chris Cornell’s first solo album, Euphoria Morning. A wonderful and beautiful album that had some fans scratching their heads. The music was unlike anything that Soundgarden had ever performed. Despite some songs that were written during the Soundgarden years, such as “Flutter Girl” which was a Superunknown outtake, the album was a venture outside the world of rock. Cornell’s vocals and lyrics are some of his best work. The music covers everything from slightly alternative to piano lounge. Some of the stand out tracks are the single “Can’t Change Me”, the piano driven “When I’m Down”, the acoustic “Euphoria Morning” and “Wave Goodbye” a tribute to Cornell’s friend Jeff Buckley.

The Sugarcubes - Hit

I caught this video a few years ago during VH1’s late night 90’s alt rock video blocks. Some whacky stuff out there, and this video is one of them. I a huge fan of stop-motion, which is found throughout the video.

Temple of the Dog

518p0f1dbgl_aa240_.jpgHopefully most people know about this amazing project that included members of Seattle’s finest, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Fronted by Chris Cornell the band consisted of Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron, newbie Mike McCready and an appearance by an unknown Eddie Vedder. The project was a tribute album to fallen Mother Love Bone Andrew Wood, who was a friend with Cornell and bandmate with Gossard and Ament.

Paltalk Presents LateNet with Ray Ellin

With their high ticket prices, drink minimums, dinner reservations, and parking constraints, even the most frequent of laugh-seekers will agree that comedy clubs have an element of exclusivity that is off-putting.

Cornell, Staley & Vedder

Check out this interview with Chris Cornell, Layne Staley and Eddie Vedder at R.I.P. Magazines 5th Anniversary show in L.A. back in 1991, where Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden all played. I wish I had a time machine…

Soundgarden - Like Suicide

One of my favorite Soundgarden tracks. Both the studio version from Superunknown and the acoustic version found on Songs From The Superunknown (or “The Day I Tried To Live” and “Black Hole Sun” singles) are both great, each version having their own vibe.
