One of the trials of blogging involves finding a rhythm to blog in. If you want your blog to succeed, you have to keep it updated on a regular, consistent basis. I try to blog at least once a day - in a perfect world, I’d be blogging 3 times a day. However, after long nights out on the town, it’s hard to get up the next day and get a post up.
That’s the amateur way to blog. Part of blogging is learning, and today kids you’re gonna learn a great feature. It’s called timestamping, and it’s what the big boys use to plan out posting on a consistent regular basis. So how does it work?
Simple. Using Wordpress makes all the work an easy task. On your “write page/post” function you’ll notice on the right side many options; scroll down and look for the “timestamp” function.
This gives you the ability to actually schedule out each post. So, you could theoretically write all your posts in one day, and use the timestamp to schedule each post for different days. This will keep your blog consistent and constantly updated (which is one of Google’s ranking factors) as well as not overloading your subscribers with posts (which I hate!)
Maybe a silly question, but does the time stamp use ‘military’ time after 12 noon? So 1 pm is 13, 2 pm is 14? And then 1 would be 1 am, and 2 would be 2 am?
No such thing as a silly question! Yes, the timestamp feature is in military time.
