Just a reminder to everyone out there in Internet land that there is such a thing as reading other than your blogroll or MySpace pages! This Saturday, March 5th marks another annual “Free Comic Book Day!” Yes kids, step right up to any participating comic shop in your area and receive some free comics! No strings attached.

Free comic book day

Free Comic book day
started a few years back as a way to introduce non-fanboys into the world of comics and has proved to be more successful each and every year.

If you think comics are uncool and for geekazoids, well, you’re close minded and have been living in a cave for too long. Comics are storytelling and art wrapped up in one nice little book you can read while sitting on the toilet.

Walk into any comic shop and I’ll guarantee you’ll find something you like. To put it bluntly, if you enjoy TV or film, which I know you do, then you’ll dig comics. So get your ass out there and get some for free.

If anyone wants to talk about whether or not the new Spiderman movie was better than the original comic story, or wants to debate the whether or not the actress who played Gwen Stacey was good enough, just smack ‘em. Fanboys.

    Eric:
I will. My three year old is becoming a spiderman fan and I would love to get him hooked on comics. The new SM looks kinda dark for a three year old. Do you know if the older stuff was more light hearted?

Alan, Marvel actually has an entire line of kid friendly books just for your young one, and Captain Blue Hen has an entire section of kids comics. Free Comic Book Day is for the kids, for sure. Tell ‘em Eric from evolvor.com sent you!
