The Cobra Punchers recently posted a few notes about the “new” music industry. In their rant they discuss how music as changed into intangible content that can be used to sell advertising much like TV.

They also discuss how the 10-12 song “album” is a thing of the past and how musicians right now can be at the forefront of releasing music a little differently than we have in the past.

I’ll through in a few tips on marketing this music; whether they realized it or not, their little article landed on Digg and got a bunch of visitors. Had they hosted their blog themselves, and had their music right there in my (or anyone else’s) face, a lot more people would have heard their stuff. I went a little further (after realizing they were a band!) and found their MySpace page and liked what I heard.

Wanna find new listeners? Keep adding great content to your site (that YOU host or OWN, not anyone else) and the visitors will keeping rolling in.
