It’s been about a month since my silly Top 10 Forgotten 90’s Rock Band post, but I’m still getting lots of search engine traffic and probably will ’till the end of time. With this traffic I have received hundreds of comments; some are happy “thank yous” and others are downright stupid (”these bands suck”).

Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose

I love Soundgarden. The song and video for “Jesus Christ Pose” are really intense. I imagine this pissed a lot of folk off when it came out so many years ago. If you’re a Soundgarden fan PLEASE buy this CD from the band Black Market Radio. I got it in the mail yesterday and it’s awesome. I’ve been telling everybody about BMR.

In response to Andy Beal’s generocity in allowing us to publish our feed url’s in the comments (which he will keep an eye on and shout out when he finds a good post), I have decided to do the same. Fred Is So Right About “Superdistribution”

A few days ago Fred “A VC” discussed “superdistribution” on his blog. To sum it up, Fred talks about how in a not-to-distant future, everybody and their mother will be compensated through their word-of-mouth marketing. It’s a concept that I have had in my head since day one of my online marketing and advertising awareness. It’s also a concept that I don’t think many really grasp in it’s entirety.

Get Your Music Out There: CD Baby

I recently stumbled upon CD Baby, a “little CD store with the best in independent music.” I like them for a number of reasons, the biggest being that they only sell music that comes directly from the musician themselves. Basically, you produce your own CD’s and then send some to CD Baby, who adds them to their online store. CD Baby just happens to be the largest seller of independent CD’s on the ‘Net and has been in the biz since ‘98.

Faith No More - Angel Dust

Many who visited the site over my “Top 10 Forgotten Bands” post mentioned some great bands of the ’90’s. One of the most underrated bands of the era, Faith No More, was mentioned in a few comments. The reason I didn’t include them really is because, other than “Epic” and “Last Cup of Sorrow“, they never got much radio play (which at 12-13 was my only outlet to music.) However, a few years later my brother would introduce me to “Angel Dust”, an album that for me signals the beginning of summer and good times (the first time I heard in was in May-June ‘99). The band is awesome, and I remember “Angel Dust” being #1 on Maxim magazine’s “albums of all time” list a few years back. Yeah, # 1.

Yet Another New Wordpress Theme

Yes, I am updating my Wordpress theme, again. I just am never happy with them (i must be an artist or something.) Anyway, sorry for any technical problems that may arise but everything should be okay. I’d never update a theme for anyone else “live” but for you, I’m gonna let you see a theme get hacked as it happens. We’ll also be updating Wordpress throughout the week, so if you come here and see nothing (it’s my first update!), that means I screwed up royal! No really, we’ll be fine. Please let me know what you think of the “grunge” version (v4.0) of evolvor.com!
