I started researching different ad management software solutions as I begin the daunting task of luring advertisers to the Evolvor Media network. I spent about five minutes looking into some ad serving solutions before taking the free open source route that I sometimes forget about.
I don’t think I’ll ever pay for software ever again. It just makes so much sense, this open source stuff.
I ran into Openads, which seems to take care of my advertising needs at the moment. With the software, I can manage multiple banner ad campaigns over my network with every kind of option available, from ad size to type (html banner, video, etc.). The program also allows for ad tracking, campaign management, and more.
What’s also great is, beacause of it’s open source nature, I can sit down with my programmer and change how the program works if I deem it neccessary.
It will probably be some time before I can really comment on how well it performs. I’ll follow up in a few months and let you know what I think.
I’m curious as to what types of programs others in the industry use (or don’t use) to manage their banner ad campaigns.

Eric:
I have some limited experience with pay options but was wondering if you have had enough time with this stuff to comment yet?
No, I haven’t. It’s sitting on my programmer’s list of “things to do”, and let me tell you, that list is long. I’ve also been working hard at building visitors and reader BEFORE really worrying about selling ads. And I think I’ve found good affiliates in the meantime.
Hi Eric,
After reading through your post, it seems I’ll have to try Openads for sure.
Just a quick question - Can it be integrated into Blogger (Google’s blogging platform). What about Wordpress? Does it require extra plugins to do so?
Can you kindly give me an overview of how this works.
Kindly note: I’m asking this here, because you’re already using it as a consumer. Else, the documentation at Openads could’ve served the purpose.
I would appreciate a reply from your side at my mail id, if possible.
Thanks!
Allan.
Have you tried OASIS open-source product? It is a LAMP product which is easy-to-use and very high performance because (a) it is built into apache and uses shared memory for its delivery tables (no queries to db for ad delivery and (b)is scalable with ability to set up a master/slave delivery farm.
oasis.sourceforge.net
there are many plugin available for adds rototation, and even u can hire some coder for that.
