I will be moving out of my apartment very soon as I prepare to buy a house. Anytime I move I start packing early. I’m not one who likes having a lot of junk laying around and try my best to get rid of said junk.
As I was going through a box of nonsense, I stumbled upon my high school ring. You know, that $300 ring you buy ’cause you kinda have to but never actually wear.
As I was reflecting on it’s awesome design (white gold, black onyx w/ silver embossed letter “H” in script), I couldn’t help but notice the sides of the ring. This is where one would usually put their prized high-school activities, like football or drama club.
My two choices were the video camera and the printing press, both different forms of “media”.
I has no idea at the time what to put on the ring, so I chose two things I enjoyed, film and art. I wanted to go to school for film, but didn’t think about the Internet one bit.
Now I see that I was basically foreshadowing my career even before I really knew what it was.
