So I just read a little post about some privacy issues regarding MyBlogLog. Now the funny thing is all day long I’ve been thinking about how huge MyBlogLog really is. It became apparent to me that in reality MyBlogLOg could be really huge as more and more people learn how to set up their own blogs.

For those of you unware, MyBlogLog is a social networking site for bloggers. It takes all the good things about MySpace and lets you use them to help network and promote your blog. You probably notice my sidebar with my recent visitors; that’s a MyBlogLog widget. While it sounds great and I’m excited about using it some more, it seems that the advanced memberships allow you to see where each member is going on the web (I’m assuming while logged in to MyBlogLog).

This seems very disturbing to me. I understand that their are many ways that my actions are being tracked online. Google knows, and I’m sure if the government wants to know, they will. That doesn’t bother me. But to be frank, I do care if my peers know about where I go, and the only reason is that people point fingers and people talk and people base decisions about your character for little things like what you look at online.

If I want to look at porn, then that’s my business. If I want to look at old He-Man cartoons, then that’s my business. If I want to look at how to grow a pretty flower garden, then hey, screw you that’s my business and not yours. I hope someone who has a membership can clear up what information is actually shown here, ’cause it’s obvious I’m a little pissed!
