Super Bowl to be streamed over the ‘Net

super bowl online? Now, I may be ignorant to this, and someone correct me if I am wrong, but I’m pretty sure I have yet to see a football game, let alone a Super Bowl, streamed over the Internet. Because the ‘Bowl is the most watched TV program every year, I’m pondering how it will be watched in the future. With the rise of online video and the power that this format is taking, it’s easy to see how TV may be changing. More importantly, it’s apparent that the days of thirty second commercials are numbered.

So when the day comes and we’re all watching the game via Yahoo and instead of your typical thirty second spots are what? Contextual ads that run dozen the side of the screen? Interactive ads that feature sports trivia or games? Pop-ups and unders?

The point here is that were all whispering about how the online ad industry is developing new ways to run advertisements online, and that all media is being integrated into the web. But will the thirty second spot we’ve all lived with for so many years really change or will it just migrate over to the net as online video technologies develop further?
