In addition to having an online store through your own website, a great place to market yourself and your business is by selling your products and services through auctions online. And while many different auctions exist today, we’re going to focus on the big one, an online auction you may have heard of: Ebay.

We could discuss Ebay in great length, but much has already been written online about how to achieve success through the online auction giant. Much of what has been written is over-hyped get rich quick material, but some very good material about how to set-up and run successful auctions exist.

Use Ebay as another vehicle to gather attention to your existing business. Millions of people use Ebay every day to find things; not taking advantage of this would be counter-productive. For those of us that are in service related industries, Ebay still provides us with a marketing vehicle; you just have to get creative.

It’s simple: Find products that are going to attract your target market,  and sell them using Ebay. After the transaction is made, you can contact the buyer and offer the service to them. The closer your products relate to your company’s services the greater a chance you’ll have in up selling your services to them.
